Most longevity supplements are hype. This one surprised me

If I had to throw away almost every supplement in my cabinet I honestly wouldn’t be that upset.

Most supplements don’t have great evidence behind them. But there are Four I would keep and one of them completely surprised me.

I believe lifestyle comes first. If you’re eating processed food all day and only sleeping four hours and never exercising no supplement is going to save you.

A couple of years ago my blood work wasn’t heading in the direction I wanted. My cholesterol was climbing. My blood pressure was high. I was about forty pounds overweight.

My doctor is pretty progressive. He didn’t lead with medication or supplements. He recommended changing how I ate. More whole plant foods. More movement. Better sleep.

He only recommended three supplements.

  • Vitamin D.
  • Omega-3.
  • And calcium.

I almost never recommend supplements…except this one

But after digging into the research on healthy aging I discovered another one that I think is genuinely interesting.

Every muscle cell in your body contains tiny energy factories called mitochondria.

As we get older those mitochondria don’t work quite as well.

Urolithin A by Timeline (my affiliate link) is a supplement that has a lot of research and human trials behind it.

One reason researchers are excited about Urolithin A is that it supports the body’s natural process of recycling damaged mitochondria.

So, it helps improve muscle  strength and endurance. Think of it like replacing worn-out batteries with fresh ones.

Your Muscles Are Your Retirement Plan

Since I started taking Timeline Mitopure Gummies I’ve noticed I’m able to hang from the pull up bar longer .My shoulder girdle feels stronger more stable. And this is after years of chronic instability after dance injuries.

My grip strength has gotten stronger, and grip strength is one of the significant sign posts of healthy aging. And my recovery time after exercising is a little faster. And this is without adding more exercise or changing my routine.

If you’re deciding where to spend your health dollars I’d still put almost all of my money into a healthy diet, strength training, regular walking and stretching and getting enough sleep.

But if you’ve already built those habits and you’re curious about one supplement that’s backed by some interesting research Urolithin A is worth looking into.
