I have worked out on the Faittd reformer tower combo, and I can’t see any difference between the feel of Balanced Body Reformers and Faittd except for the price and a few stylistic imporvements!
One of my Pilates students recently had a gym built behind her home where her husband keeps his weight lifting equipment.
She had a small Aero Pilates reformer with bungy cords for resistance springs. She hadn’t used it much because she hadn’t had any training and didn’t quite know what to do with it.
But after experiencing the Balanced Body reformer and springboard during private training at the Pilates studio with me, she was ready to get a full reformer tower set up of her own. She wanted something more substantial, more attractive and with a smoother ride than her Aero Pilates reformer.
She asked me to help her figure out what equipment to get that would have the springboard and the reformer. But she couldn’t drill into the wall so I suggested the reformer and springboard combo.
I did some research and sent her a few links from Balanced Body and Stott Merithew, which were two companies I know well having used their equipment for the past 20 years.
I Also found a great price on equipment from a Chinese company I had not heard about called Faittd. (my affiliate link)We agreed it was worth the risk to get the Faittd equipment because the price was better and there were a lot of good reviews online from people who had bought from them. She could always return it if she didn’t like it.
Plus, the price included everything you would need. You didn’t have to order peripherals separately. The jumpboard, springs, and Pilates box were all included in the price.

The Faittd Reformer Tower Combo is Beautiful and Sturdy
We were both thrilled that the Faittd reformer is surprisingly attractive and well made. The light colored wood frame is well put together, and very sturdy and the tower reformer combo is easy to assemble.
The Chinese company that builds the Faittd machines must have smart designers who studied the other leading companies on the market and have taken the best attributes from each. In many small ways they have improved on similar brands.
The Faittd Reformer has an adjustable footbar with 5 settings

The Faittd reformer she chose was the top of the line Full Orbit wth an adjustable foot bar with five different height settings whereas most reformers have only three settings. So, the foot bar works for students of any height. The Faittd footbar is easy to adjust and wide enough to do many different foot positions for footwork and bridging.
Most reformers are too narrow and have a narrow-width foot bar that does not allow for wide foot and leg positions or for larger students. There is one balanced body version that has the same wide foot bar, so Faittd has different reformers with different footbars as well.

All the equipment comes in one big box with the frame already assembled and the tower frame and foot bar, box and other pieces tucked away inside the frame. It takes a couple of strong people to lift the frame and set up the foot bar. The tower assembly is simple but takes two people to lift it and set it into the frame and adjust the height equally on both sides together.
The feel of the reformer when doing footwork, planking etc. is smooth and easy. I cannot really think of anything wrong with the machine. The price is less than Balanced Body or Stott equipment because it is made in China where labor is less expensive.
The Faittd reformer springs and gears

There are ample springs on the reformer with three gears. I have never seen this much versatility in reformer spring settings. Other machines I have used in professoinal Pilates studios have only one or two gears for the spring tension while the Faittd has three different gears so you have a lot more control over settings. There are 6 springs in all, 2 red-heavy, 2 green-medium, and 2 yellow-light springs.
The Faittd reformer jumpboard

My one complaint is that the jumpboard could be a little wider. It is only as wide as the frame whereas the foot bar is 5 inches wider on both sides. It would be nice if the jumpboard had the same width as the nice wide footbar.
Balanced body has a jumpboard you can buy separately that is as wide as their wide foot bar. But Balanced Body’s standard jumpboard is also too narrow.

The Faittd Pilates jumpboard slides into a slot in the frame easily and there are two nobs to screw it into place. The same slot also fits a cushioned or slide resistant board for standing or kneeling side splits and other exercises where you need to put your feet on the end of the reformer when the foot bar is down. It’s nice that they include 2 different end boards that are wide and easy to stand on or put your forearms against for planks.
One of the things I do not like about Balanced body Jumpoards is the complicated way they attach to the reformer.
The Faittd tower conversion is easy

The carriage slides back toward to tower and another comfortably cushioned platform slides into place to convert the reformer into a mat for tower work.
The push through bar works well and the tower is stable for hand and leg springs. There are ample adjustments for the height of all the different spring settings for arm work and leg springs.
The Faittd Straps

The hand and foot straps are easy to adjust for length. The actual hand and foot straps are a bit flimsy but this is easy to fix by ordering the sturdy balanced body padded straps.
The Faittd Reformer box

The Pilates box is smaller than the Balanced Body or Stott box but works fine and is attractive and sturdy. It is actually nicer if you are a smaller person so you don’t bang your arms against the sides when you do pulling straps prone. I find the larger box a little too unweildy.
Delivery of the Faittd Reformer Tower Combo
The only downside is that you may have to wait longer for delivery. Faittd has warehouses in the USA so there is a chance your item will be in stock in a warehouse close by. But if your exact item is not in stock it has to be shipped from China. So be prepared to wait a little longer for delivery. It took my studentsix weeks from the time of order to the delivery.

The shipping company delivers to your door but does not set the equipment up for you just like with any company that sells equipment. So, this should be no surprise. You have to get friends to help or hire help to get the equipment out of the box and carry it into your space and help you assemble it.
I bought the same type of equipment through Stott, but it cost a couple of thousand dollars more, and had the same exact experience except that they didn’t even deliver to my door. I had to hire two guys with a truck to go pick up my equipment at the port in Oakland CA and drive it across the Bay Bridge and down to the Peninsula and help me set it up. At least Faittd has a shipper who will deliver it to your door.
If you want excellent equipment that is comparable to Balanced Body equipment or Stott equipment and you want to save a thousand dollars or so, and you don’t mind waiting a few extra weeks for delivery Faittd is a great choice.

Very helpful as I consider upgrading from my own Aero Pilates bungee cord reformer. Ty for taking the time to outline all of the pros and cons!
It’s been over a year since I started using this system and I still like it! Faitd Pilates reformer is holding up well!
